Even though there are many depictions of people allergic to dogs and many mammals I see on TV many years ago. I never seen an individual allergic to feline cats. This series looks interesting.
Nice way of starting the series. Anyways, this series (as stated in the title) is called by the name of “Nyan Koi”, an anime adaption based of a manga created by Sato Fujiwara. Also looking at the screen shots above, it’s about an average high school boy (+1 to the School Slice of Life collection) called Junpei Kosaka, who happens to live with a cat-loving family who owns many cats, and at the same time, has a crush upon this girl in his class at school, Kaede Mizuno, and again, who happens to be a neko-fan.
This is all hippy-dorry you seem, but Junpei has this one little thing that differentiates himself to the rest. He has an die-hard allergy to cats. To make things even worse, one day walking home after school, Junpei kicks an empty can and unfortunately beans the local Neko Jizo-sama (The Guardian Deity of Cats). Due to this, Junpei is cursed upon the almighty Jizo-sama now that he can understand now what cats are saying. However, if he fails to grant 100 wishes from cats, he himself will turn into a cat, and die due to his own allergy. What this series many is focused upon. Watching Junpei act as a slave for cats.
Anyways, this first episode really introduces the main characters and sides (like any other first episodes) with many more characters to come (as shown in the OP).
Looking at the voice actor castings of this Anime…
Shintaro Asanuma as Junpei Kōsaka
Yuka Iguchi as Kaede Mizuno

Haruka Tomatsu as Akari Kirishima & Kirishima “>Kotone Kirishima

You can see many seiyuus returning from the Spring and Summer Anime line up of this year, such as Shintaro (voice of Junpei) who also voiced Soushiro in Gendai Mahou, Eri , who was responsible for the first ending theme for the first season of Hayate, Haruka Tomatsu (Nagi from Kannagi and Shiho from Karen Children) makes a return and surprisingly Ryoko Shiraishi (voice of Kanako) is in the cast list who also voiced Hayate-kun himself. Looking forward to hearing her voice in later episodes.
Anyhow, this episode really gave off its flavour in the first episode, trying to lure in the audience, packs some very entertaining lolz and witnessing Junpei’s first achievement of helping a cat. That’s all I really have to say about this episode…
The reason why he appeared in that short appearance with the afro was unknown.
Looks like another anime added to my weekly watchlist. Also since I’m kinda late of posting this summary, the second episode is already out -.-
So until the next post~
