Nyan Koi! 01

Even though there are many depictions of people allergic to dogs and many mammals I see on TV many years ago. I never seen an individual allergic to feline cats. This series looks interesting.

Whoa! Nothing can be better for the intro for the first episode is getting laid right on the spot.
qwerty
Except, nothing can be worse than having a minor drawback with a splint of hair going up your nostril.
qwerty
Also turning out to be a dream.
qwerty
Blaming you cat for ruining your lustful dream.
qwerty
Realising you have an allergy to cats.
qwerty
Finishing move, imagining your cat talking and ridiculing you.
qwerty
And lastly, going through some deja vu.

Nice way of starting the series. Anyways, this series (as stated in the title) is called by the name of “Nyan Koi”, an anime adaption based of a manga created by Sato Fujiwara. Also looking at the screen shots above, it’s about an average high school boy (+1 to the School Slice of Life collection) called Junpei Kosaka, who happens to live with a cat-loving family who owns many cats, and at the same time, has a crush upon this girl in his class at school, Kaede Mizuno, and again, who happens to be a neko-fan.

This is all hippy-dorry you seem, but Junpei has this one little thing that differentiates himself to the rest. He has an die-hard allergy to cats. To make things even worse, one day walking home after school, Junpei kicks an empty can and unfortunately beans the local Neko Jizo-sama (The Guardian Deity of Cats). Due to this, Junpei is cursed upon the almighty Jizo-sama now that he can understand now what cats are saying. However, if he fails to grant 100 wishes from cats, he himself will turn into a cat, and die due to his own allergy. What this series many is focused upon. Watching Junpei act as a slave for cats.

qwerty
FURRY = MIND BLOWN.
qwerty
Meet Nyamsas. The cat of the Kosakas. He becomes more close to Junpei know that he can understand what he's saying.
qwerty
Junpei's classmates. Whom I forget their names at the moment. But they're just side characters so you do not have to worry about that.
qwerty
Kaede, the cat-loving fangirl that Junpei seems to admire. Only to be a total enemy for the cats for her over-caring actions taken upon the felines.

Anyways, this first episode really introduces the main characters and sides (like any other first episodes) with many more characters to come (as shown in the OP).

Looking at the voice actor castings of this Anime…

Shintaro Asanuma as Junpei Kōsaka
Yuka Iguchi as Kaede Mizuno
Atsuko Tanaka as Nyamsas
Eri Nakao as Suzu Kōsaka
Haruka Tomatsu as Akari Kirishima & Kirishima “>Kotone Kirishima
Jun Fukuyama as Haruhiko Endou & Tama
Juurouta Kosugi as Keizou Kirishima
Rina Satou as Chizuru Mochizuki
Ryoko Shiraishi as Kanako Sumiyoshi
Tomoaki Maeno as Kouta Kawamura
Yu Kobayashi as Nagi Ichinose
Yui Sakakibara as Kumaneko

You can see many seiyuus returning from the Spring and Summer Anime line up of this year, such as Shintaro (voice of Junpei) who also voiced Soushiro in Gendai Mahou, Eri , who was responsible for the first ending theme for the first season of Hayate, Haruka Tomatsu (Nagi from Kannagi and Shiho from Karen Children) makes a return and surprisingly Ryoko Shiraishi (voice of Kanako) is in the cast list who also voiced Hayate-kun himself. Looking forward to hearing her voice in  later episodes.

Let's see if the head is magically intact with its body.
qwerty
DAMN!

Anyhow, this episode really gave off its flavour in the first episode, trying to lure in the audience, packs some very entertaining lolz and witnessing Junpei’s first achievement of helping a cat. That’s all I really have to say about this episode…

qwerty
Apparently, Junpei will suffer the cat allergy if cats pass his 1.5m radius safety boundary.
qwerty
Thinking that she's a nice and charming fresh young girl, Junpei soon realises that Kaede is into Yakuza novels.
qwerty
Due to some circumstances Junpei falls into a lovey-dovey themed situation...
qwerty
Gets caught up with some bad people...
qwerty
Taking some advice from a cat...
qwerty
Junpei toughening up and acting like a man for once...
qwerty
Realising that he fell into a death trap and becomes a scared little shota...
qwerty
The bad guy giving up and retreating for no good reason...
qwerty
Junpei in confusion as to what just happened with the afro guy...
qwerty
Which turns out to be the strange elder from earlier on.
qwerty
A obligatory flashback, where Junpei asks some old people on the history upon the great Neko Jizou-sama.
qwerty
Becoming motivated as a youth asking him to talk about old times, he goes over the top as to change his clothes and yap on some irrelevant stuff.

The reason why he appeared in that short appearance with the afro was unknown.

qwerty
Jupei's first mission to granting the society of cat's wish, Junpei has to tell Kaede to calm down on the cat-hugging.
qwerty
Here's a more detailed graph on Junpei's safety zone boundary.
qwerty
And the situation as of now.
qwerty
In actuality Junpei was yelling at the cats...
qwerty
Kaede mistook Junpei as he shouted at her, so Kaede dropped the cat and ran off.
qwerty
Junpei shitted brix dearly.
qwerty
The next day, everything seemed out fine. As he believed that he fulfilled the cat's wish and didn't hear a single word from the cats in the morning.

Until…

qwerty
He hears cats talking once again after school.
qwerty
And realises he has to make a similar repeat of what happened the day before 99 more times.
qwerty
Even though Kaede is a fan of cats, her family has a fanbase of dog lovers, hence the hordes of dogs they own at home.

Looks like another anime added to my weekly watchlist. Also since I’m kinda late of posting this summary, the second episode is already out -.-

So until the next post~

qwerty
o.O!
