The “99th volume” of Kenjirou Hata’s Hayate the Combat Butler manga announced on Saturday that production on a new anime has been green-lit. The manga volume is being distributed for free at the paired screenings of the Hayate the Combat Butler! Heaven is a Place on Earth film and the Mahō Sensei Negima! Anime Final film.
The original manga — and the two television anime series it inspired — follow a boy named Hayate who serves as a butler, bodyguard, confidante, and more to a girl named Nagi to pay off a 156,804,000-yen (about US$2-million) debt.
Takashi Kumagai, Shogakukan’s editor in charge of the Hayate the Combat Butler manga, had revealed in a January interview that the next step after the Hayate film was already being planned. Hata himself had posted on his Twitter account (in English) in April, “The third season : after the movie of the summer of this year. Please wait in expectancy!”
Viz Media will publish the 18th manga volume in North America next month. Bandai Entertainment released the first anime series, and Crunchyroll simulcasted the second anime series in several countries as it aired Japan in 2009.
The Taiwanese production and broadcasting company Gala TV aired a separate live-action television series based on the manga this year, and this series will also air in Japan.
All is well with the word. All is well.
Edit: Here’s the raw pic sauce of the page a Hayate movie-goer took.
Just another update: Now entered my season of exams. Thanks guys for the good lucks! Much appreciated!!
Another update: Happy 3rd Birthday farewellsayonaranyarth.wordpress.com! 3 years of farewellsayonaranyarth.wordpress.com activeness and counting~ Thank you everyone for your fabulous support! Be sure to follow my Twitter if you want some high quality tweeting spam in your timeline!
Sad as it may be I’ll unfortunately be taking an actual hiatus from blogging due to upcoming exams which are actually somewhat important, meaning I’ll have no proper time to write any more new material for this site as I’ll be revising as well as questing in Flyff; as my official exam-revision-break-pastime activity (‘Nyarth’ on Lawolf server – ADD ME!), and also some anime if low on my daily dose.
Sorry if this causes great concern (heh) but fear not as I’ll be back sometime in the middle of June once exams are entirely over, finally graduating high school and become a FREE MAN. From then it’s party taim until September as I’ll be starting Sixth Form (top-tier college in the UK) for the next two years until I hit Uni. *wipes tears from eyes* How time flies by.
Anyways, I must be going now. Those saddened by my leave (lol) are welcome to follow my Twitter as I’ll be occasionally micro-blogging anime I’ll be watching live as it happens, not that I already do it now…
I shall be back.
Oh yeah, Don’t forget to vote in my poll placed at the right side of this page. Hard to decide which term to use, so I’m letting the population of my /a/non readers decide on which to use~
Update 2: New PV just came out with new footage/title/theme card for the new movie and slated for release on June 25th!! Just to clarify everyone eager to find out when it’s out…
SCRATCH THAT – YOUR BODY WILL NEVER BE READY.
Slowpoke.jpg imo, but in all due matter Oreimo will live on with a total of 4 brand new episodes making it a grand total of 15 episodes in its series roster! This news comes in when this week the official website confirmed for 8 DVD/BD volumes to be released, with the remaining two volumes to have two eps each – to be released on 22nd June and 27th July respectivel (heey my birthday!).
To think that a shady TV drama version was confirmed… The most recent issue of Shonen Sunday, with the announcements of the third HnG Character Popularity Contest to celebrate the upcoming 300th serialised chapter, also cunningly announced that there’s going to be a theatrical release coming our way!
